5th grade practiced Punnett Squares during their Heredity unit with a fun project. Students "inherited" their traits, drew their character, then partnered with another student and completed Punnett Squares to calculate probability of certain traits in their offspring.

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Hayden Junior Teague 🎓

Hayden Junior Teague is the son of Marsha Teague and Frankie Teague and the proud sibling of Dylan, Mya, Hannah, Joseph, Zach, Kayla and Ernest. Hayden brings light and laughter to every room he's in, and his favorite place to be is at school—especially in Mrs. Tammy’s room, relaxing on his bean bag and watching Paw Patrol.

Hayden’s favorite high school memories include arriving at school each morning, heading to Art class, and proudly helping dismiss the buses at the end of the day. Some of his favorite teachers are Ms. Makalie, Mrs. Kylia, and Mrs. Scottie, all of whom have made a big difference in his life. He’ll miss playing computer games and watching TV from the comfort of his bean bag. One important lesson he’s learned is that he doesn’t always get his way—but that’s okay.

As a senior, Hayden’s goal is simple and meaningful: to come to school and have a great year. He wants people to remember how he gave rides to them on the back of his wheelchair. Hayden’s favorite subjects are Math and P.E. He enjoys shows like Paw Patrol, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Matt’s Off-Road Recovery. At school, his favorite meal is a chicken patty with applesauce and mashed potatoes all mixed together. At home, he loves Salisbury steak, baked potatoes, green beans, and milk. If he had to eat one meal every day forever, he’d go with a peanut butter sandwich and yogurt.

Hayden is an expert at driving his wheelchair.  He’s been deeply influenced by Mrs. Scottie, who has supported him in countless ways, and Mrs. Duh (Delhia Voyles), who taught him how to do many things on his own. Next on Hayden’s travel bucket list? Flying on an airplane to an unknown destination. Wherever that may be, we know it will be an exciting adventure.

Hayden, thank you for filling our halls with joy, kindness, and unforgettable moments. We are so proud of you and can't wait to see all the amazing things your future holds.

🧡 Your smile, spirit, and bean bag throne will never be forgotten. 🧡
