First Grade Friday Science Experiment!
Add food coloring to milk then put a dab of dish soap in the middle. When liquid dish soap is added to milk with drops of food coloring on the surface, the soap reduces the surface tension of the milk and reacts with the fat. This interaction causes the fat particles in the milk to move and create swirls of color.

5th Grade is learning about cells and body systems. Today, they reviewed the 4 parts of blood by making a model. We love getting to do Hands-On Learning with our students!
September 5th is School Picture Day!!!Senior Composite pictures, and Senior Individual and group sports banners will be taken on, Thursday, 5th. Vo-tech students get your picture taken before you leave that day.. Senior Athletes remember your uniforms and appropriate shoes.

Winona Elementary: Elementary Cross Country practice will be starting tomorrow and Thursday afterschool. Practice will last till approximately 4:10 PM. Practice starting next week will be on Monday and Tuesday the rest of the season.

Our school staff has been actively engaged in preparation for the 2024-2025 school year, with teachers attending meetings and training sessions to refine policies and practices. Our team is looking forward to the upcoming academic year.

August 15th is staff training day. We will be testing all emergency systems. DO NOT BE ALARMED if you hear sirens or intercom calls stating fire or any other emergency situations. We are training. This will happen in the morning and afternoon. We take safety seriously so we must train.
Although we are on a 4 day week schedule, we will be going to school on a few Fridays. Please see the list below and plan accordingly. All of our teacher's lessons revolve around students being in class. Attendance is IMPORTANT!!!

The City of Winona's electric crew demonstrated electricity safety to elementary summer school students. We thank City Supervisor Chris Haynes and City Electric Employee Ryan Norris for bringing a bucket truck and digger truck for the students to learn about, while also explaining their careers as linemen in training. Journeyman Allan Mitchell from the City of Mountain View helped present electrical safety and careers.
The high school basketball team will have a car wash and pulled pork lunch fundraiser on Friday, June 28th, from 11 am - 3 pm. Please plan to come out and support the team as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Kindergarteners had a blast playing Letter Bingo, a fun and engaging educational activity that helped them develop their letter recognition skills.
Kindergarten students are learning to write their names in imaginative and artistic ways.
The Winona Police Department visited the elementary. We appreciate Chief Eudaley and Officer Cooley giving a demonstration on public safety to our summer school students.
