First grade enjoyed a great field trip to Missouri Down Under in Van Buren. They viewed many animals that are not native to America for example: Lemurs, tropical birds, snakes, alligators and of course Kangaroos. Students and visitors were allowed to hold a small alligator and a snake.
🎓 Senior Spotlight: Addison Ruth Voyles 🎓
Addison Ruth Voyles is the daughter of Caleb and Christy Voyles and the proud sister of Colton and Greyson. Known as “Addie” to her friends and classmates, she’s an active member of FBLA. Outside of school, Addie enjoys spending quality time with her family and going on adventures with her boyfriend, Lucas.
When asked about her favorite high school memories, Addie shared that her freshman Ag class and being crowned Homecoming Queen top the list. As graduation approaches, she says she’ll especially miss Mrs. June, who has always shown her kindness, understanding, and made her feel heard. Addie considers Mrs. June her favorite teacher, saying she’s been a steady source of support throughout the years.
Reflecting on her time in high school, Addie shares one piece of advice: “The years go by faster than you think.” As she enters her final year, her goal is to maintain strong grades and make the most of every moment. Above all, she hopes to be remembered as someone who was kind to everyone she met. After graduating in May, Addie plans to attend cosmetology school and pursue her passion for beauty and creativity.
Here are some fun facts you may or may not know about Addie! Her favorite subject in school was English, and she absolutely loved watching Hannah Montana. Her favorite meal? Chicken and fried rice. But if she had to choose one meal to eat for the rest of her life, it would be Chick-fil-A chicken with a fruit bowl—simple and delicious!
When asked where she’d like to travel next, Addie said either Arizona or a return trip to Oregon. As for reading… she admitted she hasn’t read a book in about four years! But when it comes to influences, Addie says her parents have made the biggest impact on her life. They've always supported her in both school and life decisions, helping shape her into the person she is today. Thank you, Mom and Dad.
Something not many people know about Addie? She loves to go antique shopping with her mom—a favorite pastime they share.
Addie, we wish you the very best in all your plans. As you move on to new adventures—like cosmetology school—we hope you carry the memories you’ve made here with you, and always remember the kindness, laughter, and heart you brought to those around you.

The Wildcats tore up the course in the Varsity races at Ellington! Leanna Chavez powered through the course with heart and determination, finishing strong in 19th place! Every step showed grit and relentless effort! Harper Lay turned it up a notch, charging through the pack and breaking into the Top 10 with an 8th place finish ! Kingston Charles dominated the boys’ varsity race, pushing hard and claiming an incredible 7th place finish .Every finish tells a story of courage, teamwork, and drive. WAY TO GO, WILDCATS! Keep the momentum going!
The Jr. High Wildcats showed OUT at Ellington! What a performance from our Wildcats . They shower speed, grit, and heart! Kennedy Feldbaumer showed her determination and speed, battling through the pack to earn an impressive 8th place. Zane Levesque ran with grit and intensity, powering his way into the top group and claiming 8th place in his race. Jack Hodges fought hard from start to finish, finishing strong with a solid 13th place showing. These Wildcats proved they’ve got the drive and toughness to compete with the best. Every stride showed heart, hustle, and Wildcat pride!

Harper Lay finished strong at the Van Buren Scenic River Run , placing 20th out of 83 varsity girls runners! She set a new personal best time in the process!! On a tough course and against a competitive field, Harper showed incredible grit and determination from start to finish. Every stride was earned, and her hard work continues to pay off. We’re proud of her effort, her attitude, and the way she represents her team. Great job, Harper!
Jack Hodges came to race and he delivered! Out of 102 junior high boys at the Van Buren Scenic River Run, Jack battled his way to an impressive 13th place finish! He ran with heart, grit, and determination on a tough course. Big performances like this don’t happen by accident , Jack’s hard work is showing up when it counts! We’re incredibly proud of Jack , not just for how he runs, but for the way he represents his team and our school with pride, sportsmanship, and class.
