Wildcat Baseball Wins

Winona Wildcats put up 5 runs in the 5th on its way to a 9 - 2 victory over Koshkonong on Tuesday. Winona Wildcat’s big bats in the inning were led by a single by Robert Kapp,  a fielder's choice by Tyler Russell and a double by Blaine Cooper.

The Wildcats got things moving in the 1st inning when an error scored one run for Winona.  

Winona scored 5 runs in the 5th inning. Batters contributing to the big inning included Kapp,  Russell, and Cooper, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Kapp led the Wildcats to victory on the mound. The righty  allowed 1 hit and zero runs over 4 innings, striking out 8 & walking 1.  Zack Pulliam threw 3 innings in relief out of the bullpen. Pulliam recorded the last 9 outs to earn the save for the Wildcats.  

Burgess took the loss for Koskonong. The pitcher allowed 6 hits and 8 runs over 5 innings, striking out 8 and walking 1.  

Winona tallied 9 hits in the game.  Kapp, McCade Dixon, and Russell all had multiple hits for the Wildcats. Russell, Dixon and Kapp each managed 2 hits to lead the Winona.  The Wildcats tore up the base paths, as 2 players stole at least 2  bases.  Kapp led  the way with 3.
