Wildcat Baseball 4-26

Summersville opened up an early lead in the 2nd inning when an error scored one run for Summersville.

After they scored 1 run in the top of the 5th, Winona Wildcats answered with one of their own.  Summersville scored when Garrin Greear singled on a 3-2 count, scoring 1 run. 

 Winona Wildcats then answered when Blaine Cooper singled on a 3-2 count, scoring 1 run.  Winona Wildcats took the lead for good with 1 run in the 3rd inning.  In the 3rd, Zach Pulliam singled on a 0-1 count. 

McCade Dixon was the winning pitcher for Winona.  Dixon allowed one hit and 3 runs over five innings, striking out seven.  Robert Kapp threw 1 inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Kapp recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Winona. 

Austin Fiske took the loss for Summersville.  The pitcher surrendered 4 runs on 6 hits over 3 & 1/3rd innings, striking out six. 

Jaden Thacker started the game for Winona.  The righthander surrendered 1 run on 2 hits over 1 inning, striking out 3 and walking 0.

Winona Wildcats saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game.  Thacker, Kapp and Pulliam each racked up multiple hits for Winona.  Thacker went 3-4 at the plate to lead Winona in hits.  Winona Wildcats stole 7 bases during the game as 2 players stole more that one.  Dixon led the way with 2.  

Summersville was sure-handed and didn't commit a singer error.  Trey Fiske mad the most plays with 8.  Summersville tore up the base paths,  as 2 players stole at least 2 bases.  Greear led the way with 2.
